Urban Street Project 2024: Building Homes and Hope in Wausau

Urban Street Project 2024: Building Homes and Hope in Wausau

The 4th annual Urban Street Project has concluded successfully, marking another milestone in community charity work. With the support of 25 local contractors and partners who volunteered and donated materials, a new 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom bi-level home has been built at 4412 Rib River Trail, Wausau, and is listed at $379,000.

The project’s mission is to donate all proceeds from this home sale to Bridge Street Mission’s Sober Living Center. These funds will support the renovation of their new facility at 329 N 1st Avenue, Wausau. The Men’s Recovery Center is expanding to include support for women, which is vital for maintaining sobriety, building relationships, securing stable housing, and growing in faith.

A Legacy of Giving

The Urban Street Project is dedicated to more than just building homes—it strengthens community ties. Past projects have raised up to $160,000, aiding Bridge Street Mission’s programs. This year's proceeds aim to continue this legacy and significantly impact those in need.

About Bridge Street Mission

Founded in 2015 by the Tappe family, Bridge Street Mission began by providing food to the homeless and evolved into a comprehensive outreach center with 501(c)(3) status in 2019. It now serves as a beacon of hope, with the Sober Living Center’s expansion to support women representing a major advancement in their mission.
