Trio of speakers to headline tenth Women’s Leadership Conference
WAUSAU — Professional speakers Gina Glover, Lisa Brouwer and Darcy Luoma will be featured at the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Leadership Conference to be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Wisconsin Convention + Expo Center in Rothschild. The event will also feature a panel of local business leaders, sharing their tips for effective networking, courageous living and difficult conversations.
The Conference, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025, is designed to inspire and encourage women of all ages and career levels. This event offers an opportunity for women to develop skills that will carry through to both their work and personal lives. This year’s theme is ‘Bravery & Courage Lead to Growth.’ As many as 700 attendees from around the state have participated in previous Conferences.
New this year, the conference includes a Brave Beginnings session on the evening of Tuesday, January 14. This networking event will feature Gina Glover and will focus on building the skills needed to move conversations to connections. The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the Central Wisconsin Convention + Expo Center in Rotshchild. Members of the Chamber can attend for $50 (non-member cost is $70).
“We’re so excited to bring a new twist to the tenth annual Women’s Leadership Conference with the VIP Reception - Brave Beginnings,” said Jennifer Johnson, a member of the event’s planning committee. “This kick-off will allow participants the opportunity to learn how to easily and effectively network, leading into the conference the following day.”
The featured speakers at this year’s event each bring a wide range of leadership experiences.
Glover is a professional speaker motivating audiences to think differently about networking and career development. She works to connect business professionals to the skills needed for building better relationships, communicating with confidence and achieving their personal best.
Brouwer spent 20 years in a corporate, commission-based sales and leadership position where she was highly successful. But on the inside, she wrestled with feeling enough despite her achievements, carried the weight of being a guilty mom and shared her emotional leftovers with the people who deserved her best. It took Lisa five long years to leave her job and step into something that aligned with the bigger, bolder plan for her life.
Luoma shares insights honed from her diverse experiences, having served as director of a U.S. Senator's office for 12 years, conducted national advance work for the White House and worked on two presidential campaigns, Darcy witnessed firsthand the consequences of not responding thoughtfully. Motivated by these experiences, she developed the Thoughtfully Fit model, drawing from over two decades of coaching leaders and teams.
“The Women’s Leadership Conference is a must-attend event!” said Michelle Gleason, a member of the event’s planning committee. “The program provides space for women to connect, learn and grow around leadership. The day honors women’s struggles and celebrates their successes.”
“With this great roster of speakers, this event is both energizing and inspiring for women who want to make a positive change in their lives, both professionally and personally.” said Gleason.
The conference is developed by a committee of women with the intention of energizing, supporting, developing and educating women leaders and those who desire to become leaders.
The program is open to both members and non-members for an early bird rate of $159 through Friday, December 13. A table of eight can be reserved for $1,300 under this special rate. The non-member rate is $199 for a single seat at the conference and $1,750 for a table of eight. A lunch buffet and snacks, including gourmet popcorn and gelato, are included in this price. Individuals and groups interested in attending can register at WausauChamber.
The presenting sponsor of the 2025 Women’s Leadership Conference is Peoples State Bank, the gold sponsor is Foundation Finance Company, the silver sponsor is Spectrum Benefit Solutions, the bronze sponsors are Marathon Cheese Corporation, The Samuels Group, SCSwiderski and Wausau Softball, the exclusive media sponsors are the NRG Media LLC stations Hot 967, Classic Rock 103-3 WGLX, Today’s Best Country Y106.5 and Big Cheese 107.9.
