Recipients of 2024 ATHENA Leadership Awards to be named next week

 

WAUSAU — The pair of recipients for 2024 ATHENA Leadership Awards will be named at a ceremony to be held next week. The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce will host an awards program at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 21 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Rothschild.

 

The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce has one of the longest-running and most established programs in the US and presents two different awards. The ATHENA Leadership Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award are presented to women or men in recognition of their professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.

 

The finalists for the 39th annual ATHENA Leadership Award are:

  • Beth Ann Richlen
  • Laura Strek

The finalists for the 17th annual ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award are:

  • Alissandra Aderholdt
  • Lea Beckman
  • Ashley Dupuis-Bohman
  • Nicole Johnson
  • Lindsey Lewitzke
  • Beth Tritten
  • Misty Wolff
  • Zoua Yang

Sadie Fisher of WAOW News 9 will be the emcee of the event.

 

All of this year's finalists have conducted interviews which are available to view in their entirety on the Chamber’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

 

Last year, Amber Gober, Branch Manager at Peoples State Bank, was named the recipient of the 2023 ATHENA Leadership Award. Jessica Scharfenberg, CEO at HealthFirst Network Inc in Wausau, was named the recipient of the 2023 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award.
