Solar Power Hour Info Session: Wausau / Central Wisconsin Solar Group Buy
Wednesday, May 20, 2026 (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM) (CDT)
Description
Join Northwind Solar and the City of Wausua for a free in-person Solar Power Hour at the Marathon County Public Library, Wausau Branch to learn about the Central Wisconsin Solar Group Buy. As the program’s selected solar installer, Northwind Solar will walk attendees through how solar works, what makes a property a good fit, costs and incentives, and how group-buy pricing can help make going solar easier and more affordable.
The Central Wisconsin Solar Group Buy is open to property owners in Marathon, Lincoln, Portage, Waushara, Waupaca, and Wood Counties, including homeowners, farms, businesses, and nonprofits. This event is free and open to the public. The Grow Solar Central Wisconsin Group Buy Program is offered in partnership with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), the City of Stevens Point, and the City of Wausau, with Northwind Solar serving as the local installer for the program.
This is the ninth year that this program has been offered to the Central Wisconsin community. Since its launch, the program has helped more than 340 properties install solar systems and has generated more than two megawatts of solar capacity, enough to power more than 180 homes for a year, according to organizers. As energy prices rise rapidly, 2026 is a great time to explore solar for homes and businesses. After the info session, attendees can sign up with Northwind Solar for a free, no-obligation site assessment and solar consultation to see how solar could work for their property.
