Manufacturing Engineer

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvement utilizing lean initiatives within manufacturing. 

Position Type:  Exempt

Shift:  1st, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm

Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures

  • Provide technical support for manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Generate drawings for production jigs and fixtures.
  • Participate in product engineering for manufacturability.
  • Provide necessary support to the production floor on a day-to-day basis as products are being built.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes, engages outside equipment vendors and solicits operators input to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze production downtime or bottlenecks, establish trends, determine root cause of failure and corrective action.
  • Work with teams to develop, procure, and implement assembly processes for new and existing product lines.
  • Troubleshoot, improve, and help maintain plant tooling, fixtures, equipment and processes.
  • Lead projects with focus on implementing improvements to equipment and processes as they relate to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost KPIs.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3D Software Experience
  • Experience supporting production operations, process improvements, and new product introductions preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
  • Experience with CAD software and technical drawing creation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Demands:

  • Wear safety attire and protective gear when going to the plant floor.
  • Sit, Talk, or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls.
  • Regularly stand and walk.
  • On occasion may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
  • Close vison, distance vision, color vison, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor.
  • Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels when on the plant floor.
  • Are exposed to hazardous equipment on the plant floor.
  • May be exposed to contaminant.
  • May share workspace with others.
