Job Title:    Marketing Specialist  

Reports To:    Operations Director                                                                                      

Location:    Wausau Office  

Status:     Full Time (M-F), Non-Exempt with full benefits package         

Rate of pay:    $18.55/hr, negotiable based on experience 

 

Summary 

Step into an instrumental role in a fast-paced and friendly financial planning firm where the ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter who is capable of working cross-functionally on the planning and implementation of marketing projects. You will need to display versatility in order to handle ad-hoc projects as assigned.  This position strives to support the firm targets for organic growth and client retention. This position contributes to delivering prospects and clients a unique experience that defines and differentiates our firm. This position must consistently adhere to high standards of business and professional ethics when dealing with others and/or performing work activities in addition to maintaining compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Optimize and implement marketing strategy utilizing a range of media and tools, such as direct print, electronic communications, events, social media, advertising, and public relations to help achieve company goals. 

  • Design, create, and manage to completion all marketing production related efforts such as promotional items, printed collateral, multimedia collateral, direct mail pieces and corporate collateral signage, prospecting literature and PowerPoints. Ensuring that all creative marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines. 

  • Execute timely delivery of email marketing campaigns, product literature, quarterly newsletter, invitations, event materials, etc. 

  • Manage timeline to effectively coordinate and manage firm events, such as client appreciations and prospecting seminars, to ensure a world-class client experience by organizing facilities and managing all events details such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional materials, etc. 

  • Work with Operations to provide support for internal team communications or publications. 

  • Conduct Pre and Post marketing event evaluations and report on outcomes. 

  • Participate in on-going training required and/or recommended by the firm and/or its Broker-Dealer to ensure compliance and up-to-date knowledge of procedures and tools used to support the marketing of the firm. Ability to become proficient in using software the firm and its Broker-Dealer requires. 

  • Positively represent the firm to clients, affiliates, and other individuals with whom you come in contact 

  • Adhere to professional ethical standards that, define appropriate treatment of clients, define best practices in the financial services industry, are specified by the professional groups or agencies governing the issuance of your respective licenses and/or credentials. 

  • Attend company and/or team meetings as required. 

  • Contributes to team efforts by performing other marketing-related duties as assigned by Operations Director or Franchise Owner. 

 

Travel Requirements 

  • Attend marketing events, mileage to be reimbursed if outside of normal travel area 

 

 

 

Education/Experience Recommended 

  • Associate degree or greater degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or related field; or 2-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams and Outlook) and skillful navigation of web browsers. 

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills

  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job 

  • Works well independently with little direct supervision, as well as in a team environment
