Civil Construction Engineer

The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the industry and have a successful track record of past WisDOT and Local/Municipal projects and clients. The applicant will have experience in developing and mentoring teams, coordinating engineering and technical staff, successful approaches to winning, leading, and executing projects by working with staff, clients, subconsultants, and construction contractors.

The specific responsibilities and duties of this position may include:
Read and understand WisDOT roadway plans and specifications
Lead or contribute in the management and inspection of road and bridge projects
Daily document inspection and material quality observations
Communicate with other team members as well as contractors, business owners, and the general public
Materials testing for this position may include aggregate sampling, concrete testing, and nuclear gauge asphaltic density testing
Being able to work both independently and within a team atmosphere to accomplish project goals
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering
Four years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Ability to travel within the state of Wisconsin
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
5-10 years of construction engineering experience with WisDOT or Non WisDOT/Local projects
Registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin
GPS and Survey equipment knowledge
Familiarity with WisDOT Standard Specifications, material certifications and FDM
WisDOT HCTP material certifications
Attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate with peers, clients, and regulators
Computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Office a must, experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and aptitude to learn and excel in their career
